Storage and maintenance
A heavy body, delicate joints and an electronic head need storage suited to their construction.
Choose a storage solution for the specific model. Height, weight, suspension and pressure points matter more than an attractive cupboard. Keep the packaging, care instructions and model information so cleaning, moving and any servicing can follow the same procedure each time.
A dry doll before a closed box
SHEDOLL's silicone guide says the doll must air-dry completely in the shade and that moisture around internal joints must be removed before storage. It describes a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat, and a position that limits deformation. This advice applies to its silicone guide, not automatically to every TPE or robot model.
Support must suit the model
The RealDoll Robot manual describes both approved hanging storage and supported storage lying down. For longer storage, the robot head must be removed and returned to its foam-lined case. This shows why head, body and suspension should be assessed separately. Do not adopt another manufacturer's hanging solution without confirming compatibility.
Avoid sustained pressure on soft areas
Irontech's FAQ recommends specific supportive clothing for its gel areas and hanging storage or the original box when the doll is not in use. It also highlights that friction and cleaning can affect body paint. Ask about the precise support for your body type; an ordinary chair is not necessarily suitable for long-term storage.
Make moving a planned task
Measure the route from storage to the cleaning area and plan where the model can be supported along the way. Use only handles, suspension points and transport aids permitted by the manual. If a part sticks, changes sound or develops a crack, stop handling it and seek service guidance instead of forcing the structure further.
Save a simple care overview
Record the cleaning date, which products are approved and where any damage is located. Keep service photos private. Check condition and the planned storage position at the interval specified by the manufacturer; there is no single maintenance interval for every model.
Good storage starts with complete drying and appropriate support. Buy storage space and care accessories according to the model manual so both are ready when the doll arrives.
